May’s book review is up! This month I read The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. career counselling, career coach, career coach brisbane, career counselling brisbane, brisbane career counselling, brisbane career coach,
I felt like I had seen this book everywhere and I wanted to know what all of the fuss was about. I enjoyed how the author connected his personal experiences to psychological theory to produce a unique view of the stories we tell ourselves, or beliefs we have, that may be sabotaging our efforts to live our best lives (called Upper Limit Problems or ULP).
Where this book really adds value is in the explanation of behaviours we may exhibit when experiencing an ULP and how to redirect our energy to reach our Zone of Genius. Don’t know where your Zone of Genius is? Not a problem, because this book can also help you identify your unique abilities.
The Big Leap also has an enlightening section on worrying. As a habitual ‘worry wart’ from a very early age, this particularly spoke to me and provided some great insights on why we worry and how best to deal with it. This book is jam-packed full of strategies, tips and tools to propel you to a life of abundance and whatever you may call success.
The message is clear – invest your energy in identifying and overcoming your ULPs and start living your best life. This will be a book I read over and over again.career counselling, career coach, career coach brisbane, career counselling brisbane, brisbane career counselling, brisbane career coach, career coaching, career advisor, career advice, career aspirations, career advice brisbane, job search, career decision making, interview skills, skype online, career guidance, career advancement, career advice australia, study, what to study.
